ll archives: The Goddess Project's Holli and Sara
We happened upon The Goddess Project scrolling through the great space of Instagram and immediately aligned with filmmakers Sara Landas and Holli Rae's vision. TGP is an extraordinary documentary that follows Sara and Holli across 30 state lines to interview over 100 women committed to transforming themselves and the world around them. The film is slated to debut next, but we thought you should meet them now!

What is The Goddess Project and how did it come to be?The Goddess Project is a documentary film about incredible everyday women we met while traveling for 6 months across America in a school bus. The project was inspired by our desire to see more multi-faceted role models for women and girls in the media.
What did you all do before?Sara: Before starting The Goddess Project, I worked as an editor at a television station. Now I work edit freelance to support the dream.
Holli: I work freelance as a graphic designer and art director.
What did you all think you’d be doing now whenever you were 10? Both of us have always dreamt of becoming professional artists but never imagined that we would be combining art and activism in this way. We think our 10 year old selves would be very proud of us for having the courage to embark on this journey!
Is The Goddess Project your dream jobs? If not, what else is in the works? The Goddess Project is our dream job and we hope to expand this vision to help connect, inspire, and empower women around the world!
Are you involved in any side hustles, ladypreneur collabs or baby projects? Tell us about them. We’re also currently working on a powerful short film which documents 10 women as they come together to strip down and share their thoughts on body image, vulnerability, and sisterhood. The video will be released online in early June! For news, updates, & releases ‘Like’ us on Facebook.
What do your daily routines consist of? We usually start our mornings with a team meeting in the sunshine to gel pen down our “to-do” list and discuss the day’s plan. We then return to The Goddess Project HQ where we spend the rest of the day editing the film, looking for funding, and planning for the films release!
How do you all balance work and life and is that actually even possible? Because we are so passionate about getting this film out into the world, we have devoted the majority of the past two years to working on The Goddess Project. When you feel so inspired by what you are creating it is really easy to forget your needs and put your work first. Luckily the women in the footage we are editing are constantly reminding us of the importance of taking care of yourself. In order to recharge mentally, emotionally, and physically, we love to do yoga, go dancing, and get out in nature!
You have to do it and you hate it – what is your least favorite task to do at The Goddess Project? File management & organizing hard drives. We have over 300 hours of footage and 11 hard drives. It’s a full time job in itself just to back up and keep all of our files in order!
What are your favorite business lady apps? We used Yelp everyday on the road to find the gems of each city when driving into the unknown. There is an app called Lori which helps you find Women Owned Businesses near you. We also love The Goddess Tarot when we’re feeling like we need a little Goddess guidance!
